Privacy

The short version

This is a static website. It has no accounts and no forms, and it sets no cookies of its own. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which stores nothing on your device and shows us only totals. Apart from that, the only personal data Aletarch receives through the site is what you choose to put in an email to us, plus the standard request logs our hosting provider keeps to serve and protect the site.

This policy covers https://aletarch.com only. It does not cover Eidren, our product, or any data you give it.

Who we are

Aletarch Inc (“Aletarch”), a Delaware corporation, is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. What we collect

• What you send us. If you email us, whether an enquiry, a speculative application, or a security report, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever the message contains. Mail is handled in Google Workspace.
• Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. When a page loads, a small script from Cloudflare reports the page address (without its query string), the site that linked you here, your country, your browser and device type, and how quickly the page loaded. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not fingerprint you, and we see only aggregate totals, never a record of an individual visit. We do not use advertising trackers or session recording, and we set no cookies of our own. We do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals, because we do not track you across sites in the first place.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records standard request data (IP address, user agent, and the URL requested) to serve the site and protect it against abuse, and may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people from automated traffic, which we do not read. Cloudflare holds that data under its own policy and retention schedule; we do not keep a copy.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To read and reply to what you sent us. We use your email and its contents. The legal basis, where one is required, is our legitimate interest in answering correspondence, or the steps you asked us to take before entering a contract.
• To handle a vulnerability report. We use your email and its contents. The basis is our legitimate interest in the security of our systems.
• To understand how the site is used. We rely on visit statistics. The basis is our legitimate interest in knowing, in aggregate, how many people visit and what they read, so that we can improve the site.
• To operate the site and investigate abuse. We rely on server logs. The basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, available site.
• To meet a legal obligation. We use whatever the obligation requires. The basis is compliance with law.

We do not use any of it for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we do not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who else handles it

• Google Workspace (Google LLC), which receives and stores email sent to Aletarch.
• Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts and serves the site, keeps the request logs, and provides the visit statistics described above.

That is the complete list today, and we will update it here if it changes. There is no CRM, no applicant tracking system, no other analytics vendor, and no advertising network. We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, or to a successor if Aletarch is acquired or merges, in which case this policy continues to apply to the data transferred.

Where it is processed

Aletarch is in the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and in other countries where they operate. If you write to us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your data leaves that region when it reaches us. Our providers process it under their standard data-processing terms, which incorporate the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where those apply. How long we keep it

• Email is kept while the conversation is live and for two years after the last message, so that we can pick up the thread if you write again. We keep it longer where a legal claim, a security issue, or a legal obligation requires it.
• Server logs are kept by Cloudflare for the period its own policy provides. We do not hold a copy.
• Visit statistics. Cloudflare keeps each page-load report for seven days and an aggregated sample after that. We see only totals.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work. We would rather you wrote to us first, but you do not have to.

If you are a California resident, the rights above include the rights to know, to delete, and to correct. We do not sell or share personal data, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Whatever your rights are, the practical route is the same: write to hello@aletarch.com and ask. We will respond within one month, or within the shorter period your local law requires. If a request is unusually complex we may take up to two further months, and we will tell you within the first month if so.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

We will post material changes here and update the date at the top of this page. Because this site has no accounts, we have no way to notify you directly of a change; if you have an open conversation with us, we will mention it there.
